I'm so with you on the no parenting books kick! I also read every parenting book out there with my first son and ended up a crazed, guilt-ridden mess. A real life book burning was definitely needed!

Just wanted to say a big-time thanks, dollface, for spreading the word about Dave Ramsey and for working for The Man Upstairs. Here's looking at you, kid.

I love the Dr. Weil book - it is what started me on a path to treating my son with nutrition instead of the heavy meds he was on.
And I have to second the Ray Guarendi book. He's got excerpts and articles online at his website, too.
I read Dave Ramsey right before we did our taxes - so far we've gotten to step one in the Total Money Makeover but hit a couple of bumps and will hopefully get back on track soon!
I think we have the same reading list. Except I've got some sci-fi books tagged to end of mine LOL!

Chesterton once observed that people don't hate the Catholic Church, they hate what they perceive the Catholic Church to be (anyone have that exact quote?)

I think you have in mind the Bishop Fulton Sheen quote…

“There are not over a hundred people in the United States who hate the Catholic Church. There are millions, however, who hate what they wrongly believe to be the Catholic Church, which is, of course, quite a different thing.”

I’d love to do the Meme’s, but I have been fooling on the internet (and email) too much already today. :-D
