Christmas after atheism

nativity2 Christmas after atheism
Since I’m so often asked what it’s like to experience Christmas after a life of atheism (especially that I was an atheist even as a child), here is a quick roundup of posts I’ve done on the subject:

Merry Christmas!

There’s so much in your experiences that I relate to! Like you, I was an atheist growing up. I found the Narnia post especially fitting, since I read (and re-read) the series as a child and wished with all my heart that the books were true. Years later, when I came to faith in Christ at 18, I discovered they were!

Thank you for sharing your journey, Jennifer. Merry Christmas!

I’ve been trying to catch up on your entire blog, so please forgive me if you’ve already written about this and I just haven’t gotten to it yet; but have you ever written about growing up as an atheist? A neighbor woman is raising her children as atheist and I wonder what those children are feeling.

I actually haven’t gone into a ton of detail, although I cover it a lot in the book I’m writing. You might find this post helpful, it’s probably where I went into it most.

    Thanks and merry Christmas!

I grew up as an atheist, but I was still able to enjoy Christmas for all it is regardless of my beliefs. Christians don’t have some special Christ-powered monopoly that allows only them to enjoy Christmas. If you needed to turn to religion to actually enjoy the holiday, it suggests that you missed out on more than just religion during your childhood.

    Merry Christmas
