I just read Mother's Bank Account by Kathryn Forbes? Not certain of the last name. It was first published in 1946.

It's remarkable and charming little book, that values such things as character, ingenuity, hard work, family, etc. It's a fast read. I now think everyone must read it.

Jennifer, Thanks for the comment on my blog! I followed the link to yours and the first thing I read was …"making me wonder why we don't have our own reality TV show."

I laughed out loud and read it to my husband who was in the middle of a poopy diaper. He laughed too at that and your story about English Tea. Great post!

Okay, so I couldn't sleep and decided to do a Quick Takes post even though it is 3 a.m. Saturday.

I have at least two books going at all times as well. Currently I am listening to two books on tape and reading as well. There are just too many good books to read!
