One of the biggest challenges in answering such a question is that new inventions come from the imagination of the inventor. In most cases, they develop their ideas in secret so no one else can steal their ideas. Many new inventions are created every day. Some are a huge success that fit the needs of a large percentage of the population. For every successful invention, there are 1000 more that will fade away because they simply did not catch on.
